Them: Well, I just don’t see race.
Me: Well, I’m black…so I do.
The colorblind lie ties into a lot of things, most of all our Post-Civil Rights Era white privilege. As in, a whole generation of kids have been taught to “tolerate” other races (which as a whole gives people reason to not really understand or appreciate other cultures, but to ignore them).
